From Hannah's Desk: 03/04/18
Welcome to the newly updated Hannah Smith Wellness, I am excited to share with you my new practice and what's been going on behind the scenes for the last few months. I've decided to take my practice in the direction of women's health more specifically pregnancy including preconception, prenatal and postpartum nutrition. To some this may seem like an obvious choice due to that I am pregnant myself however over the last 8 months I have experienced seeing a lot of confusion when it comes to nutrition and health with pregnant women from old wives tales, ''pump & dump, eating for two, decaffeinated coffee, suffering from pain & sickness, skipping workouts, caving to sugar & salt cravings... I am drawn from my own experience as a clinical nutritionist and compelled to give you a more thorough understanding of prenatal nutrition and how you can use food to benefit yourself and your growing baby.
I've been wanting to expand my testing practices beyond nutritional genetic testing and I am eager to share with you that I have a wide variety of hormone and intestinal wellness testing that will be available to add onto any holistic nutrition wellness plan. This means a much closer look at what's going on beneath the surface and to untangle what makes you uniquely you. From being able to read your adrenal levels, understand why your cortisol levels are off their natural course and to make the connection behind what's going on in your gastrointestinal tract. This testing can show us what's going on right now and through my ongoing education and training, I can help you understand what makes your body thrive.
Currently, I am not accepting new clients however registration will open up again come summer 2018 (TBA) but in the meantime, I will be keeping my blog updated weekly (don't forget to check back here too!) and will have a limited amount of hand-selected monthly guest bloggers. This is not an official blog post but rather an update so I won't go into too much detail at this time.
On a personal note...
I am currently 8 months pregnant and lately, I've been finding myself falling more in love with my physical body every day because creating and carrying life inside of me has been one of the most joyful and liberating experiences of my life. As I watch and feel every move my little girl makes the more and more I become eager to see her sweet face and I will always be eternally grateful to my physical body for carrying me through this transformative time in my life.
I believe it takes a village to raise a child and a village to bring a woman into motherhood, therefore, my aim is to give you content related to your journey by spotlighting other complementary businesses to help make your transition into motherhood - magical.
